Drawing Two Weeks and Counting

I have been doing Proko’s figure course now for two weeks. I have covered gestures and the bean.

I am currently spending about 30 minutes per day (most days) practicing along with the videos and assignments in the course.

First impressions? The course is exactly what I wanted. Very structured. Assignments. Lots of examples. I don’t have to go searching for anything. It’s all there.

What am I using to draw. Just a simple pencil, sharpened and practicing the official overhand grip. Still getting use to the hold, but I figure if I’m going on this journey I might as well go all the way.

Okay, let’s get to the drawing. I think I am getting better at the gesture drawing (I think). I’m looking back at some of my early drawings to the latest ones.

Gesture Drawing

Here are some of the first gestures. Not the best. I was struggling trying to get the concept.

Here are some of the ones that I did right before this post.

The Bean

I think moving on to the bean actually helped me understand the gesture a bit more. I will still need to work on my bean “design” (based on the review video of someone else’s work).

I am almost ready to move on to structure. But first I want to do a few more beans and gestures for review before moving on.

The Complete Review

Okay this isn’t the complete review, but if you want to see quite a bit of the work … practice … eh scribbles. You can look through this pdf document.
